David Bentley-Miller LLB(Hons)
DBM as he is known to us here at POBL is our Chief Executive. He has a background in law and business development. He is passionate about helping businesses and individuals understand the importance of addressing mental health both in and out of the workplace. An accomplished speaker and presenter he is just as comfortable delivering complex training courses as he is giving informal talks on the work of POBL. He has just become a Mental Health First Aid Instructor for the armed forces and the veterans communities and regularly lectures to these groups.
He is committed to equality of opportunity and regularly gives talks to community groups free of charge.
He has brought a wealth of legal contacts that POBL can draw on for the benefit of our clients.
In his spare time he sits as a Magistrate and is also an officer in the Air Training Corps in the rank of Squadron Leader.
POBL are very lucky to have a web developer and trainer of the calibre of Robbie. He has many years experience of web design and the production of multi media training packages.
He is a very integral part of the POBL training team and regularly trains organisations and individuals on many of our courses. His sense of humour is infectious and we simply could not manage without him.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his son and writing some of the best poetry we have ever read. If you speak nicely to him he may even write one for you!
Cally can be found at all of the POBL events (usually dressed as a Pirate). She organises the bag packs and Curry nights that we have held. She is also responsible for getting raffle prizes for us to raffle to raise much needed funds. If there is an event that you feel you would like to put on for POBL then Cally is your contact.
Karen is the Treasurer of POBL and drives the POBL PIRATES to raise funds for our work. She controls all money in and out of POBL. It is down to Karen’s financial acumen to ensure that we can deliver our work to as many people as possible whilst stretching every single pound we receive as far as possible especially in this tough financial climate.
Ceri is responsible for researching any grant monies that POBL may qualify for. Additionally, she is a very enthusiastic POBL Pirate in her own right and has taken part in Curry nights and Bag packing events. A busy mum of two and also a Ward manager for an NHS Trust Ceri is a huge asset to the team and also acts as a sounding board for our Chief Exec.
One of the more recent additions to POBL, Dave brings a wealth of business management experience to the table.
From IT consultancy and strength and conditioning coaching to managing gyms, sports nutrition chains and distubution centres to sales, purchasing and staff education. This business development experience was the key driving force behind us bringing him to POBL.
Dave clearly brings a proven track record of success, but he also is a keen volunteer. He has been a volunteer youth sport coach for nearly 10 years and has been a key member of the Swansea Junior Football League Executive Council for the past 6 years.
Having suffered from Anxiety and Depression for the majority of his life, POBL is a cause very close to his heart and he is keen to drive it forward.
Dave is a former champion powerlifter and now fills his free time playing badminton in the Swansea & West Glamorgan District Badminton League.
John, or ‘Boss’ as we call him is the Chair of Trustees here at POBL. He has over thirty years experience in business and management as well as holding a Reserve Commission in the RAF. He Chairs our meetings and assists the Chief Exec with deciding the strategic direction of the Charity.
